Organize Your Week for Success

In 2018, I attended a workshop on how to set goals and stick to them. Creating routine and habits is at the top of the list for consistency but isn't that so much easier said than done?


I started experimenting with how to set my week up for success and landed on something that I call Week Of.


It's simple.


ENVISION HOW YOU WANT TO FEEL AT THE END OF THE WEEK


Emotions are a useful way of organizing behavior and providing a credible signal of future actions. Do you want to feel productive, rested, nourished, accomplished, or loved?


Hold that thought.


OPEN YOUR FAVORITE NOTES APP


I have tried a lot of different mediums for the best way to organize the Week Of.


I recommend using an app or notebook that you already use. You'll be more consistent and that's the name of this game.


ORGANIZE YOUR WEEK LIKE THIS:


  • Top Goal

  • Movement (M-Su)

  • Something to look forward to

  • To do, appointment, task

  • New recipe to try

  • Grocery List

DON'T GET DISCOURAGED


Some weeks I follow the Week Of plan to a T. Other weeks I type it out and never re-visit it. I promise that if you do this for 4 weeks straight, you'll accomplish goals you've been trying to reach for months, check that annoying to-do off your list, or get that one extra day of movement in.
